Made from galvanised steel sheet, it provides a rigid, linear guide for the tape on the concrete surface, ensuring that the bentonite remains precisely within the designed construction joint zone. The U-profile encloses and clamps the tape against the substrate, eliminating the risk of the tape shifting, lifting or tearing during reinforcement installation and concreting. This maintains the continuity of the seal and prevents uncontrolled water paths from forming when the bentonite swells. Galvanising protects the mesh against corrosion in demanding site conditions, while simple mechanical fixing to concrete surfaces speeds up preparation of construction joints and reduces later repairs associated with leaking concrete interfaces.
