Description
The wire washer “snake” is a self‑supporting steel spacer used between the bottom and top reinforcement layers in reinforced concrete structures. The wire, formed in a Z‑shape or sinusoidal profile, creates a stable linear support that maintains the designed rebar height along the entire element without the need for closely spaced individual chairs. This simplifies assembly and stabilises the reinforcement in slabs, walls and foundations, limiting bar movement during concreting and ensuring proper concrete cover for the top mesh. The spacer is available in multiple heights (from 6 to 20 cm) with a standard length of 2.4 m, allowing you to select the right option for the element thickness and required cover. It works perfectly as a continuous rebar separator (ZZ‑type, rebar “chair”) on large areas where installation speed and consistent reinforcement level are crucial.
Application
The wire washer “snake” is used as a linear spacer between reinforcement layers in typical concrete elements:
- maintaining the distance between bottom and top reinforcement layers in RC slabs,
- supporting top reinforcement in foundation slabs and strip footings,
- spacing reinforcement in reinforced concrete walls,
- acting as a ZZ‑type rebar chair on large reinforcement fields,
- providing the required top reinforcement cover when concreting large surfaces.
