The main challenge of the project

The main challenge in the construction of the Garnizon Housing Estate in Gdańsk was organising structural works as part of a large, multi-phase development located within the complex urban fabric of Górny Wrzeszcz. It was an extensive project covering an area of nearly 30 hectares, combining residential, office, service, and commercial functions. It was also set in a space where new structures stand alongside revitalised historic buildings.

Combination of formwork systems

he project required systems that would provide the contractor with operational flexibility and support the efficient organisation of reinforced concrete works during subsequent construction phases. The Bauframe 60 kN wall formwork system used on the project supported the construction of vertical elements, offering a solution designed for medium- and large-scale developments. It was complemented by two slab formwork systems: BAUDECK, an aluminium panel system which, thanks to its lightweight construction, reduced number of components, and the ability to be installed by a two-person crew, helps reduce storage space requirements and streamline work organisation; and Bautreg, which gave the contractor greater flexibility in carrying out slab works.

In practice, this combination made it possible to better adapt the technology to the current needs of the construction site, streamline equipment logistics, and facilitate the execution of subsequent project phases.
