Point concrete spacer made of fibre-reinforced concrete in a “bone” profile, designed for horizontal reinforcement in foundations and slabs, with the option of tying to vertical reinforcement. Two cover ranges (20/25/30 mm and 35/40/50 mm) allow quick adjustment to design requirements without changing the spacer type.
Description
The concrete washer “bone” is a versatile fibre-reinforced concrete spacer designed to support horizontal reinforcement in foundations, floor slabs and other horizontal members, and thanks to its integrated wire it can also be fixed to vertical reinforcement. Its characteristic bone-shaped profile stabilises the bar in two cover ranges: the small variant provides 20/25/30 mm cover, while the large version offers 35/40/50 mm – simply change the way the bar rests on the spacer. Fibre reinforcement increases resistance to crushing and cracking under heavy reinforcement and fresh concrete loads, while the integrated fixing wire allows the spacer to be securely tied to the bar, preventing displacement during concreting and vibration. This keeps the reinforcement at the specified cover, so the finished structure meets the required durability and appearance parameters.
Application
The “bone” distance washer is used as a point spacer under horizontal reinforcement wherever reliable support and accurate cover are required.
- under horizontal reinforcement in foundations (strip footings, raft foundations),
- under bottom reinforcement of floor and slab-on-grade structures,
- supporting reinforcement in slabs and floors subjected to heavy loads,
- in reinforced concrete elements where precise control of concrete cover is required,
- tying to vertical reinforcement (e.g. in walls, reinforcement cages) using the integrated wire.
