The Concrete Washer “Barrel” is a plastic point spacer that allows several concrete cover depths from a single element while providing stable support for horizontal reinforcement during concreting.
Description
The Concrete Washer “Barrel” is a universal point spacer made of coloured polystyrene, designed mainly for supporting horizontal reinforcement in formwork. Its characteristic barrel‑shaped body with profiled grooves enables different cover thicknesses to be achieved with a single spacer, depending on how the bar is positioned in the recess. The geometry of the spacer ensures full concreting around the reinforcement and helps to keep the bars in the correct position, limiting movement during pouring and compaction. The “Barrel” spacer is lightweight, quick to place and typically used at a rate of about 6–8 pcs/m² of formwork surface, which makes it easy to estimate site requirements. It performs as a horizontal plastic spacer / universal washer and is an effective alternative to concrete point spacers and linear spacers on small and medium surfaces.
Application
The Concrete Washer “Barrel” is used as a point spacer wherever consistent concrete cover and stable bar positioning are required:
- maintaining the required concrete cover (15/20/25 mm and other values depending on spacer version),
- supporting and stabilising horizontal reinforcement in slabs, decks and foundations,
- use on different reinforcement levels according to design requirements,
- acting as a barrel / cylinder‑type spacer, horizontal plastic spacer or PVC spacer under reinforcement,
- complementing concrete point spacers and plastic line spacers on larger reinforced areas.
