Square Mounting Plates made of polystyrene provide reliable temporary support for precast concrete elements, enabling accurate levelling and transfer of loads into the surrounding concrete.
Description
The Mounting Plate is a square polystyrene shim designed for temporary support of precast concrete elements during installation. Its main function is to carry loads in the adjustment and positioning phase, before the loads are gradually transferred into the surrounding concrete once the bearing area has been grouted or concreted. The plates are available in several thicknesses, allowing precise control of the support height, while the lightweight, impact‑resistant material makes handling, storage and on‑site use straightforward. By providing a full‑surface bearing under the precast unit, the Mounting Plate MP helps to avoid concentrated point loads and uneven settlement.
Application
Mounting Plates are used as installation aids when positioning precast elements in a wide range of structures:
- initial installation of precast concrete elements (walls, columns, beams, slabs),
- full‑surface load transfer under structural concrete units,
- accurate positioning and levelling of precast components before grouting or concreting the support zone,
- used as a bearing plate under precast elements and concrete units in reinforced concrete construction,
- height adjustment and compensation of uneven substrates by combining several plates of different thicknesses.
